We are glad to be back at Lugnet venue with a World Ski Championships office. From this fall the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of Falun 2027 has established an office at Lugnet Venue.
The building was built before the World Ski Championships 2015 and was donated by Stora Enso to the LOC in 2015. It has then been owned by the public utility Lugnet i Falun AB and during the years among others it has housed several sports federations and Dala Sports Academy.
The LOC Falun 2027, with Sara Tigerström Monfelt and Ulrika Back Operations Managers moved in to the official World Ski Championships office during August.
– It feels great to be back at the magical environment at Lugnet and in the same building as the LOC had it’s office in 2015. It is very inspiring with an office overlooking the Cross Country arena and the Ski Jumping hills. The closeness offers us superb opportunities and makes our planning process easier, says Sara Tigerström Monfelt.
Sara Tigerström Monfelt and Ulrika Back are, as Operation Managers, in charge of the planning process for the upcoming World Ski Championships. Sara has the main part of her working hours in the Falun 2027 project. Ulrika Back continues with a shared duty between Svenska Skidspelen and Falun 2027. She is now focusing on the planning for the upcoming FIS World Cup in 2025 which is an important test event for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2027.
– Event though the winter´s World Cup is organized by Svenska Skidspelen we are constantly looking at solutions that benefit the preparations for the World Ski Championships in 2027. The work with Svenska Skidspelen’s organization is crucial and our volunteers will be an important part for the World Ski Championships in 2027, says Ulrika Back.
The recruitment process of a CEO for the LOC, led by the Board of the World Ski Championships company, is ongoing.
