Dear Media Representatives and Ski Friends, you are most welcome to Falun, Dalarna and Sweden, where we are preparing to host the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2027.

We are proud to say that it will be the fifth time that Falun has arranged these Championships. As we meet in preparation for the World Ski Championships, we have carried out our pre-Championships 2026, an important event when it comes to testing the upgraded ski stadium and the arena functionality. It is also an opportunity for our volunteers to welcome everyone to our city. Our vision is to make “movement beyond the snow, creating memories together” for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2027.

Accreditation media

All application from radio and television companies will be handled by the LOC, Falun 2027, in cooperation with Infront. The finalization of the system, groups and categories, as well as access rights, will take place in agreement with the FIS and in accordance with FIS Rules for the Organization of the World Ski Championships. A specific accreditation/checkpoint map for media will be planned and available at later stage. Please note that FIS Season Accreditations are not valid for the World Ski Championships 2027.

Deadline for application December 31st, 2026.

Media centre

  • Approx. 5000 square meters will be used for the Main Media Centre (MMC). 
  • In our MMC you will find Press center, IBC and the RHB TV Compound, also the Media Lounge and Press conference. 
  • Free Wi-Fi in all of the MMC and all over the arenas. 
  • The distance is less than 400 m from the Cross-Country Arena. 
  • The distance is less than 300 m from the Ski Jumping Arena. 

Press conferences

The Press Conferences will be held in the Lugnet Sport Centre (exact location TBA) in conjunction with the MPC.

Media accomodation

During the competitions, media representatives will stay at different hotels in the city of Borlänge. All hotels are located close to the city centre of Borlänge and the Borlänge central station. Transportation time to the Lugnet arena and the medal plaza is approximately 35 minutes. Falun 2027 will provide a media shuttle bus service to the arenas in Falun from all the media hotels in Borlänge. Broadcaster´s deadline for booking is September 11, 2026.

Transport

Our goal is to make your stay in Borlänge and Falun as good as possible. Therefore, we have put a lot of effort into our preparations for media transportation.

Arrival/Departure Arlanda Airport
We recommend travelling by train with SJ (Swedish Railways) to and from Borlänge and Falun. The train ride takes about 2 hours from the Arlanda Airport to Borlänge or Falun Central Sta tion. The train departs more or less once an hour (sometimes more frequently) between 06 .00 and 21 .00 (Monday-Sunday). For timetables and tickets, see sj.se.

Media Transport
During the events, LOC offers transport services between the media hotels in Borlänge, the Main Media Centre, MMC, at Lugnet and Medal Plaza.
