Tobias Söderberg-Jönsson has been appointed Head of Sport for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun 2027. As Head of Sport he will be responsible for the overall planning and coordination of all sporting aspects before, during, and after the championship.
The Head of Sport is a key role within the championship’s organizational structure. It has now been confirmed that Tobias Söderberg-Jönsson will hold this important role.
– Being appointed Head of Sport for the 2027 World Championships is truly a dream come true. Nordic skiing has played a significant role in my life, both through my family’s involvement and through my own passion for creating optimal conditions for athletes, says Tobias Söderberg-Jönsson:
– I understand what it takes to reach the highest levels in the sport, and I find it deeply meaningful to contribute my experience to an event of this magnitude and significance. I look forward to delivering a great World Ski Championships together with the many dedicated individuals in and around Falun.
Tobias Söderberg-Jönsson were involved also in the 2015 World Championships organization, where he held the role of Chief of Course. He is a experienced and respected leader, having also served as Sports Director of the ski club Falun-Borlänge SK and as a board member of the Svenska Skidspelen.

Tobias Söderberg-Jönsson brings extensive and proven leadership experience, particularly in managing complex projects successfully. He adds both strategic decisiveness and a calm, structured leadership approach to the organization.
– He has the ability to see both the broader perspective and the finer details, an asset which combined with his structural strengths, composure, and solution-oriented mindset, will greatly contribute to the development of a strong and sustainable sports organization, says Sara Tigerström Monfelt.
He currently has a management role at Falu Energi & Vatten AB, a collaboration partner to the World Ski Championships. He is already involved in Falun 2027 as a member of the board of the organizing company.
Tobias Söderberg-Jönsson will begin his new role September 1st.
