Less than six months remain until the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun.
On Tuesday evening, partner network Beyond Skiing held its autumn kick-off, with no fewer than 180 business representatives gathering at Magasinet in Falun.
“We have a very exciting period ahead of us, and interest in the World Championships is growing every day,” says Jonas Rosén, Chairman of Beyond Skiing.
Since its launch in 2009, Beyond Skiing has grown from an initiative linked to Falun’s bid to host the 2015 World Championships into an established meeting place for companies, entrepreneurs and decision-makers. Today, the organisation is more than a business network – it is a movement for companies looking to develop their business and brand while strengthening their commitment to the wider community.
Now, less than six months remain until Falun hosts the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships for the fifth time. Falun 2027 will take place from 24 February to 7 March.
Beyond Skiing’s autumn kick-off was held on Tuesday evening, and interest in the event was strong.
A total of 180 business representatives gathered at Magasinet in Falun to begin the final countdown to this winter’s major celebration.
A large number of partner companies chose to showcase their businesses at the mini trade fair that opened the event.
From the stage, the business representatives heard from Falun 2027 and Beyond Skiing CEO Kajsa Sjösvärd, among others:
“The interest in joining Beyond Skiing’s partner network is very strong. We are growing rapidly. It is so exciting to make this journey towards the World Championships together. Our shared goal is to create a true World Championship celebration, with vibrant days both at Lugnet and in the city centre, while at the same time creating lasting value for the local community and for the sport,” says Sjösvärd.

The large audience at Magasinet also had the opportunity to meet the recently established Team Beyond Skiing, as well as Swedish ski jumping star Frida Westman, who finished fourth in the large hill event at the Winter Olympics in Italy last winter.
Westman is currently based in Trondheim, Norway, where she is in the midst of her preparations for the upcoming winter season.
“There is a lot of jumping and a lot of work on technique. It is about doing many repetitions to really get the technique in place. There is also a lot of strength training, core work and stability training for the hips and knees, in order to cope with the strain of performing a large number of jumps,” says Westman.
Her ambitions for the World Championships in Falun are high:
“I have very high goals. I want to stand on top of the podium. I know that it takes a huge amount of work to get there, but I will do everything I can to succeed. And at the same time, I want to make sure I have fun,” says Frida Westman.
Beyond Skiing’s activities continue already on Friday, with the popular Beyond Skiing Golf event at Dalsjö Golf Club.
