He has documented experience from business-driven, strategic roles with good results. Jonas also has great experience and knowledge from sports as he has worked with major sports events and has been actively engaged in the voluntary sector for many years, says Roza Güclü Hedin, chair of the 2027 World Ski Championships.
Jonas Peterson will assume the role of CEO January 7, 2025.
– It feels incredibly exciting and inspiring to lead the work for the upcoming Championships in Falun. I am passionate about skiing in all its forms, and it is a dream job for me to work with a Nordic World Ski Championships, says Jonas Peterson.
Jonas is a former cross-country skier and after his own athlete career he has had various roles within the sport.
– I am really looking forward to continue working with cross-country skiing on a professional level and also getting to know Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined, the two other disciplines in a Nordic World Ski Championships. I believe that my experience from commercial roles, combined with my engagement in the skiing community and volunteer sector, will be an asset. I hope to act as a bridge into the voluntary sector and believe I can engage people to join the journey towards Falun 2027, he says.
Jonas is looking forward to the opportunity to work with and contribute to the development of the sport of skiing:
– The concepts have looked quite similar for a long time. There are new and exciting things to be brought into the arena- and TV experience within the Nordic disciplines. I am truly looking forward to working towards making the championships more attractive to the younger generation, he says.
The operational management team, Sara Tigerström Monfelt and Ulrika Back, will continue their work within the company.
