134 days to go until the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun. We can now introduce the first three ambassadors for the championships: ski jumper Frida Westman and cross-country skiers Maja Dahlqvist and Truls Gisselman.
Winter is fast approaching. Just over four months — or, more precisely, 134 days — remain until the opening of this winter’s major sporting celebration, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun.
– We can feel the excitement building with each passing day. We are delighted to introduce our first three ambassadors. Together with the ambassadors who will be announced over the coming weeks, this trio will help us in our efforts to create the World Championships celebration we are all looking forward to, says Kristin Forsberg, head of marketing at Falun 2027.
Falun 2027’s first three ambassadors are:

Frida Westman – Ski Jumping
The 25-year-old from Örnsköldsvik is Sweden’s leading star in ski jumping. She has reached the podium twice in the World Cup and finished fourth in the large hill event at the Winter Olympics earlier this year.
“It means a great deal to be an ambassador for the World Championships in Falun. I went to watch the 2015 World Championships in Falun, when I stood in the stands cheering on the Swedish men’s ski jumping team. Now I’m looking forward to competing myself,” says Westman.
Truls Gisselman – Cross-Country Skiing
The 25-year-old from Bollnäs delivered an impressive opening leg in the 2025 World Championships relay, helping Sweden secure the bronze medal. At the Winter Olympics earlier this year, he finished seventh in the skiathlon.
“It’s really exciting to have the opportunity to be an ambassador. I feel both great joy and a strong sense of responsibility. Competing at the World Championships in Falun is something I’ve dreamed of ever since it was confirmed that the championships would be held at Lugnet. Now, as I look at all the training sessions I do at Lugnet, I can really feel that the event is getting closer,” says Gisselman.

Maja Dahlqvist – Cross-Country Skiing
The 32-year-old from Borlänge is one of Sweden’s most decorated female cross-country skiers, with five medals from the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Notably, she has won medals in all five of her Olympic race appearances. Now she is preparing for a World Championships on home soil.
“I usually receive fantastic support at the World Cup events at Lugnet. I can hardly imagine what it will be like to have the World Championships on home soil. I’m really looking forward to it,” says Maja Dahlqvist.
