FIS flag handed over to Falun 2027

At the closing ceremony of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim, after the women’s 50km race, the FIS and the local organizing committee handed over the FIS flag to representatives from Falun 2027. 

After the final competition day of the World Championships in Trondheim the FIS flag was handed over to Falun 2027. Representing Falun 2027 were chair Roza Güclü Hedin, CEO Jonas Peterson, and COO Sara Tigerström Monfelt.  The handover was made by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) council member Jean-Philppe Rochat and the Mayor of Trondheim Kent Ranum along with Trondheim 2025’s chair Åsne Havnelid, CEO Åge Skinstad, and COO Kristin Mürer Stemland. 

Roza Güclü Hedin thanked Trondheim, Norway, and all 2400 volunteers for their fantastic execution of the 2025 World Championships.  

– Your ambition with the championships and your warm and thoughtful way of taking care of the athletes, all the thousands of spectators, and the media is truly inspiring. It’s a tough challenge to surpass this championship, but I hope and believe that the engagement and passion for Nordic skiing in Falun will give us the strength to create fantastic championship memories also in Falun 2027, says Roza Güclu Hedin.
