Trondheim will host the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2025. On the 17th and 18th of April a delegation with seven persons from Falun is in Trondheim to attend Trondheim 2025’s Coordination Group meeting and World Broadcaster Meeting.
– It will be very interesting to once again have the opportunity to visit Trondheim and attend their Coordination Group meeting. On these meetings the whole championship process is presented area by area and there are site inspections at the venues. Trondheim 2025 is two years ahead of us in the planning process and it will be exciting to see how their preparations go,” says Sara Tigerström Monfelt.
The operational managers of Falun 2027 Sara Tigerström Monfelt and Ulrika Back have continuously followed Trondheim 2025, and it is fruitful and provides great inspiration for the work with Falun 2027.
The meeting in Trondheim starts with the World Broadcaster Meeting, a meeting with all rightsholders. The focus is on the TV and radio perspective and it is a meeting that will also be arranged in Falun 2026. On Thursday, it is then time for Trondheim’s Coordination Group Meeting when they will present the event area by area from an organizational perspective together with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, FIS.
– It is a great opportunity for us to gain insights into their event. Then of course it is important for us to continue to establish contacts with the organization in Trondheim. During the World Ski Championships 2025 we want to be able to follow the organizer closely on site, says Ulrika Back.
In addition to the operational management, five other persons from Falun are participating in the meetings: Thomas Andersson, Tomas Jons, Per Busk, Malin Fuhr and Janne Svedin.
Janne Svedin represents Beyond Skiing and participates for experience exchange and networking with Trondheim’s business network SPOR.
Falun 2027 will also meet the Swedish ski jumpers who live and train in Trondheim.
