A big and cool Snow Park has been built on the Big Plaza in central Falun. A lot of children and their parents enjoy the Snow Park and have fun with sleds, skis or snowboard.
– The Snow Park is really crowded on sunny days. It is nice to see, says Sara Tigerström Monfelt, candidate manager Falun 2027.
As in 2015 when the Medal Plaza in Falun was crowded by people enjoying the medal ceremonies the Big Plaza again is a nice winter venue. Every day kids in all ages meet for skiing, snowboarding or sledding. The Snow Park is an initiative by Centrala Stadsrum, an association working with development of urban spaces in central Falun. The project has been able to fulfil through contributions from many different partners. The snow has been transported from Lugnet and the park is built as a halfpipe with smalls jumps and a rail in the bottom. The Park attracts many kids with sleds but you can often see older skiers and snowboarders practicing real jumps and tricks.
– There are many places for winter sports in the municipality of Falun and now we also have fantastic possibilities right in the city center, says Sara Tigerström Monfelt.
