Beyond Skiing AB, which previously had a board composition mirroring Falun 2027, is now appointing an entirely new board and taking the next step in its development. With the new board in place, efforts to develop the network and platform—where business value meets societal value—are being strengthened, with winter sports and the upcoming Falun 2027 as a shared driving force.
Since its founding in 2009, Beyond Skiing has grown from an initiative linked to Falun’s bid for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 into an established meeting place for companies, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers. Today, the organization is more than a business network—it is a movement for companies that want to develop their business, their brand, and their employees.
Today, 165 companies are part of the Beyond Skiing network, and several new companies have joined in recent days.
— The Beyond Skiing network was an important part of a successful World Ski Championships back in 2015 and is just as important in creating a new public celebration in 2027. With the new board, we are strengthening the connection to the local and regional business community and bringing in people who want to contribute with both networks and new ideas, says Roza Güclü Hedin, chair of Skid-VM i Falun 2027 AB.
Since 2023, the Falun 2027 and Beyond Skiing have shared a joint board, but a dedicated board is now being appointed specifically for Beyond Skiing AB. Kajsa Sjösvärd will serve as CEO of Beyond Skiing AB.
The new board, with a clear business focus, is chaired by Jonas Rosén, with Susanne Martinsson serving as vice chair (representative of the Falun 2027 board). Other board members include Per Bondemark, Rickard Eriksson, Anna Björkman, Henrik Navjord, Kristin Forsberg, and Maria Rydkvist (representative of the Swedish Ski Association).
Together, the board will continue to develop Beyond Skiing as a strategic tool for companies that want to grow—for real. Through networking events, a digital platform, and knowledge-sharing via lectures and panel discussions, opportunities are created for new business, collaborations, and perspectives.
— Beyond Skiing is about creating real value for companies—both here and now and in the long term. We want more companies to see the power of combining business, networking, and societal engagement, and to be an active part of the journey leading up to and beyond 2027, says Jonas Rosén, newly appointed Chair of Beyond Skiing.
For member companies, Beyond Skiing offers a unique combination of business and networking opportunities, brand exposure, knowledge development, as well as pride and engagement. It is a place where relationships are built, ideas grow, and companies can be part of something bigger.
At a time of increasing polarization, mental health challenges, and sedentary lifestyles among children and young people, Beyond Skiing works to create a context where business, sports, and societal engagement come together.
— We look forward to a true winter sports celebration in Dalarna in 2027, and we are convinced that many companies will want to get involved in different ways, says Chair Jonas Rosén.
