In preparation for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun 2027, a strategically composed Advisory Group has been established. The group brings together distinguished leaders with strong backgrounds in Swedish business, the sports movement, politics, and regional development. Its purpose is to serve as a strategic advisory body to the event’s organizing committee.
Comprising individuals with extensive experience in areas such as marketing, finance, sales, leadership, and sports, the Advisory Group will act as a valuable sounding board, offering strategic insights, business acumen, and external perspectives to strengthen both decision-making and long-term planning.
– It is incredibly valuable to have access to the collective expertise, experience, and networks represented by the members of this group. Their perspectives help elevate the quality of our work, says Jonas Peterson, CEO of Falun 2027.
The Advisory Group is a non-decision-making body and will serve in an advisory and inspirational capacity rather than a formal executive role.
– We are very pleased to be part of making the 2027 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun a true celebration of sport and an internationally recognized event. We look forward to contributing to a championship that not only promotes skiing, but also builds community and pride far beyond the realm of sport, says Gunnar Brock, Chair of the Advisory Group.
The group is expected to meet 5–6 times per year and will play a key role in developing a long-term sustainable and commercially robust platform – both for the 2027 Championships and for future World Cup events in Falun.
