Interest in becoming a volunteer – one of our Heroes – at Falun 2027 is high.
The largest number of volunteers naturally comes from Sweden, but applications have already been received from as many as 20 different countries.
A few weeks ago, applications opened for those who want to volunteer during next winter’s major skiing event in Dalarna. More than 500 applications have already been submitted.
“We are very pleased with the positive response. We expect to have around 2,000 volunteers – or Heroes, as we call them. Together, they will form an incredible team that will create magic and help make lifelong memories, both for themselves and for all our visitors and participants,” says Maria Hållmarker, who works with volunteers at Falun 2027.
The volunteer portal will remain open during this first application period until July 10. LINK TO THE PORTAL. It will then close for about a month before reopening in the autumn.
“We recommend registering as soon as possible. This will give you a better chance of securing a volunteer role in the area you are most interested in, as well as working on the days that suit you best,” says Agnes Larsson Lyckholm, Volunteer Coordinator at Falun 2027.
The strong international interest in becoming one of our Heroes is evident from the fact that applications have already been received from 20 different countries during the first weeks of the recruitment campaign. The largest share, of course, comes from Sweden.
However, there are also applications from much farther afield, including the Philippines, Togo, and Bangladesh.
