The two project managers of Falun 2027, Ulrika Back and Sara Tigerström Monfelt, has been in Zürich for meetings with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, FIS, and the Coordination Group for Falun 2027.

Last week Ulrika Back and Sara Tigerström Monfelt attended the FIS´ Autumn Meeting in Zürich. In conjunction to this the the second Coordination Group meeting for Falun 2027 was held, where also Tomas Jons (Falu Municipality), Pernilla Bonde (Swedish Ski Association) and Lars Öberg (Swedish Ski Association) participated.

FIS is following all the World Ski Championships organizers’ planning and preparations through the Coordination Groups. Their task is both to control if the organizing committee will fulfil all requirements but also support in development tasks. The first start-up meeting with the Falun 2027 Coordination Group was held in May and together with other meetings the second was at the agenda in Zürich.
– We gave FIS an update on current status in the phase we are in and an important part in this is the organization and key positions for example, says Sara Tigerström Monfelt.

Falun 2027’s next Coordination Group meeting will be held next spring. FIS mentioned the possibility of a venue visit in Falun later this year, when a few representatives of the Coordination Group could meet the project leaders and the new board of the World Championships Company.

In Zürich Falun 2027 also met the Norwegian Organizing Committee from Trondheim 2025.
– We had a fruitful meeting with Trondheim 2025 and continued our dialogue about different cooperation possibilities, says Ulrika Back.

Earlier this month Ulrika Back and Sara Tigerström Monfelt met the regional business network at the annual Beyond Skiing golf competition.
– The season has kicked off for real and we are very much looking forward to the coming winter season, says Ulrika Back.
