The Swedish Sports Association supports the Falun 2027 bid financially with 550 000 SEK.

The Swedish Sports Association’s department Support for International Events has approved the Swedish Ski Association´s application for the Falun 2027 bid and will support Falun 2027 with 550 000 SEK. International sports events are important for Swedish sports and the Swedish Sports Association supports the work towards new international sports events in Sweden. Therefore, there is a possibility for National Sports Federations to apply for financial support for bids, as the Falun 2027 candidacy has done.
– The journey towards a new World Championships in Falun is a cooperation of many partners. The Swedish Sports Association is an important partner, and the organizer and the Swedish Ski Association want to share experiences and initiate collaborations, as we did in 2015. Then we have great opportunities to add value to Swedish sports also beyond 2027, says Ulrika Back Eriksson.
The financial support will among other things be used to costs related to the International Ski Federation’s congress in May, when the organizer of The Nordic World Ski Championships 2027 will be announced.
